Jesus I Am Resting

Jesus I am resting, resting In the Joy of what Thou art; I am finding out the greatness Of Thy loving heart. Thou hast bid me gaze upon Thee, And Thy beauty fills my soul, For by Thy transforming power Thou hast made me whole.

Recently the Lord has been showing me how to rest in Him, even when the storms of life are raging. Psalm 116: 7-8 says, "Return, O my soul, to your rest; for the LORD has dealt bountifully with you. For you have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling." I looked up the Hebrew word for rest and one meaning of the word is " a settled spot" and another is, "a home". That got me thinking about how relaxed I am when at home and how I should be that way with the Lord and what He's doing in my life.

Then I read in Hebrews 4 how those who have believed have entered into rest. There is a strong connection between believing and resting throughout the Bible. When you believe God's word and obey it, it brings rest and peace to your soul.

So, are you at rest in the Lord or are you letting the cares of this life keep you unsettled? Believe that you have a loving heavenly Father who is watching over you and obey His word, then you will find rest for your soul.
