God Desires Faith

"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways." (James 1:5-7 ESV)

So often I subconsciously believe that God just wants me to come to Him in prayer. But that's not the whole story! It's not just about prayer, but about coming in faith, believing God will answer.

As Angus Buchan said, "When you put the 'if' in your prayer, you're done for. You've had it! Because negativity has entered in." It is a slap in the face of God when we don't believe Him. Our unbelief shows how little we trust Him as our Savior and Father.

God wants us to come boldly (boldly because of our faith in God) before the throne of grace (Heb. 4:16). That's when we find mercy.
